From a treatment perspective, acute psychosis can be seen as an intensified form of mania, where symptoms of excitement and confusion become more severe. In such cases, the standard approach is to use antipsychotic medications with strong sedative effects, and hospitalization is often necessary. In traditional Korean medicine, mania is regarded as a "Gwang (狂)" condition and is diagnosed as an excess yang syndrome.
